Solar Panel Prices Expected to Rise in Pakistan Due to Lower Imports
The prices of solar panels in Pakistan are expected to increase in the coming months as imports decline and demand rises. Experts predict that the current prices may remain stable for now but could go up soon due to a shortage in supply.

Recent reports indicate that while prices of solar products had previously dropped, encouraging more people to switch to solar energy, the situation is now changing. Over the past few months, solar panel imports have decreased significantly, especially after hitting a high in April.
By August, imports were down to around 1,100 MW, mainly due to shipment delays and other logistical problems. As a result, existing stocks are being used up.
Although it’s unclear exactly how much prices will rise, the limited availability of solar panels could lead to higher costs. Earlier this year, many residential, commercial, and industrial consumers turned to solar energy to cope with rising electricity bills, which increased demand for solar panels.
Right now, the cost of a 3 kW solar system ranges from PKR 420,000 to PKR 550,000, a 5 kW system costs between PKR 750,000 and PKR 850,000, while a 10 kW system is priced between PKR 1.15 million and PKR 1.45 million. However, these prices may go up if imports don’t pick up soon, leaving customers with fewer options.
Experts advise those considering solar panels to act quickly, as waiting for further price drops might result in paying more or facing delays in getting the systems installed.
